Letter B: Songs to Sing

LETTER B SONG
(tune of John, Jacob, Jingleheimer Schmidt)

Big Bobby's Baseball Bat and Ball
He loves to play all day
For words that start with B
The people run to see!
Words like Big Bobby's Baseball Bat and Ball
B B B B B B B

Do you know the Bongo Man?
(Tune of: "the muffin man")

Do you know the bongo man,
the bongo man,
the bongo man?
Do you know the bongo man
who likes to sing with me?

Oh, he loves the letter B,
the letter B,
the letter B,
Oh, he loves the letter B
and likes to sing with me.

A Bouncy Blue Balloon
(Tune of: If you're happy and you know it)

Oh, I wish I was a bouncy blue balloon.
Oh, I wish I was a bouncy blue balloon.
Oh, I'd float into the air, then I'd *POP* without a care.
Oh, I wish I was a bouncy blue balloon.

Or try this verse -- it was contributed by my 7 yr old *laugh*:
Oh, I wish I was a batch of baked brown beans.
Oh, I wish I was a batch of baked brown beans.
When you eat me it's a hoot, until I come out with a toot.
Oh, I wish I was a batch of baked brown beans.

Baby Bunny Action Rhyme

Baa, Baa, Black Sheep

Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.

One for the dame,
And one for the little boy
Who lives down the lane.

Baa, baa, black sheep,
Have you any wool?
Yes sir, yes sir,
Three bags full.

You can do it with other colored sheep as well... Baa, Baa White Sheep; Baa, Baa Gray Sheep

The Bear Went Over the Mountain
(tune: For He's a Jolly Good Fellow)

The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
The bear went over the mountain,
To see what he could see

To see what he could see,
To see what he could see

The other side of the mountain,
The other side of the mountain,
The other side of the mountain,
Was all that he could see

Was all that he could see,
Was all that he could see,
The other side of the mountain,
Was all that he could see!

Buzzing Around the Room
(tune: When Johnny Comes Marching Home)

A bee is buzzing round the room,
Buzz buzz, buzz buzz.
A bee is buzzing round the room,
Buzz buzz, buzz buzz.
He'll buzz around the room once more,
And then he'll buzz right out the door.
And we'll all be glad when
He is gone once more.

Five Busy Honey Bees

Five busy honey bees were resting in the sun.
The first one said, "Let us have some fun."
The second one said, "Where shall it be?"
The third one said, "In the honey tree."
The fourth one said, "Let's make some honey sweet."
The fifth one said, "With pollen on our feet."
The five little busy bees sang their buzzing tune,
As they worked in the beehive all that afternoon.
Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz! Bzzzzzz!

Here is the Beehive

Here is the beehive. Where are the bees?
(hold up fist)

Hidden away where nobody sees.
(move other hand around fist)

Watch and you’ll see them come out of the hive
(bend head close to fist)

One, two, three, four, five.
(hold fingers up one at a time)

Bzzzzzzzz… all fly away!
(wave fingers)

Letter B Introduction

Holy B choices Batman!!

Wow - there are so many ideas and things you can do to introduce the letter B into your little ones life.

REMEMBER - this is only a intro so don't feel over whelmed with all your ideas.
And if you need to take more time on a letter - go ahead.
We will be doing the letter B for two weeks because this letter stuff is all very new and we have lots to do!

B foods to eat: broccoli, beans, bananas, bread, blueberries, Boca, bruschetta, granola BARS, blue cheese, butter

I'm sure there's more than that and feel free to incorporate them all into a song like the Letter A song "Do you know the apple man?" With the letter B, just do Banana man, Bean man and we are silly so we did the Booger Man too!

Mama Teach Me

Our first steps in preschool education is exploring the alphabet.

Unstructured yet planned, we'll learn a new letter each week and focus on daily activites to reinforce our new addition to the alphabet.

ABC Freestyle will go with the flow and include fun activities such as: alphabetically inspired art, crafts, workbooks, coloring pages, songs, games, sign language, internet treasure hunts, food, sound and word associations and also a weekly field trip known as a "Letter Outing".

Please comment on the posts and share your great alphabet ideas.
